FAQ
Will my submitted player(s) get exhibit or is it more a kind of competition and archrival chooses the best players from all over the world?
We would like to confirm that all participants will be exhibited - at any one time there will be 10 teams (10 groups of 11 players) on the tables outside in the 'arena' space, and the rest in the indoor display in the Australian Pavilion. We will also photograph all of the objects individually to create an online gallery, and will give credit to all of the participating designers. After the Biennale we'll bring the objects back for a new exhibition in Sydney, planned for early 2013 - and the Australian Institute of Architects hope to tour the exhibition around Australia as well.

Is there any support in terms of costs of producing the player and shipping?
In terms of a budget, we are also a small non-profit organisation, all young designers and paying most of the exhibition costs ourselves. Unfortunately we don't have a lot of funds to share with participating designers, but we'd be happy to look at covering postage costs for the submission of your object(s).

Do I need to send in the concept, sketches, material plans first or can I do whatever as long as it fits the briefing?
Archrival would be very happy if you'd like to share your concept designs or sketches with us via email or a Dropbox submission - but would also like to give participating designers full creative freedom with their designs (but keeping in mind the base design templates & design brief as provided).

Should the fussball players reflect any aspect of Australian culture? Is there a specific theme that needs to be addressed?
The fussball players don't need to reflect any aspect of Australian culture. Archrival is most interested in encouraging and fostering a more productive relationship between designers and makers.
